yup

Today was another normal day soo not much to report. But I am packing for summer cottage soo I won't have WI FI for the weekend soo I will report when I get back.

Today

Well today was another normal day again. Yet I got good news. I found out today that tomorrow Mailis and I will be interviewed by the local paper. (kinda excited:) ). OK as promised Finnish cars. Finland doesn't have a car brand of its own soo foreign cars are huge. The biggest right now is a french car brand( forgot its name), Saab, BMW, Ford and i have seen a few Chevy trucks( like actual jacked up Chevy's), and almost all the cars you see even the Mercedes have hitches. kinda weird in my opion. But anyway I'm getting off. Gotta pick my outfit for tomorrow;)

Finnish style

Well today was a normal day. Got up, Went to school, Ate, And slept. So I will tell ya a little about Finland starting with their style. Well the punk look which went out of style in the U.S in the 80's is coming back and its everywhere. I have seen 60 year old women dressed punk.Second The skater hip hop look of bands like the new boyz is very popular with the younger kids. For my kids my age its more the popular prep look. the boys where the gator shoes and like vans shirts with vest jackets and sweatshirts( i think it looks good) For girls is mainly dress like normal  preppy girls in the U.S and add heels or flats like converse and scarves. Also very bright pants are really popular. So that's it for Finnish fashion soo tune it for our next lessons on the cars in Finland.

Again another day

Well today started off pretty good. I got to sleep in a little and school went good. Then I checked my email at around 6:30 and found out that I will be getting Finnish books not English which kinda upset me. What made it worse was I got the link to register for my Finnish lessons and I couldn't because everything was in Finnish! They said you could sign up on facebook and they lied....  soo now I'm sitting here relaxing thinking about showering. So night world.

bad day

Well today was disappointing. Had a long boring day at school then went to the gym after words. I tried lifting( which was weird because it is all in Kg's) and I failed epically and then had to ride home in the rain. But I took a nice sauna and now I'm happy:)

Well today I explored Helsinki a little more then road a bunch of trains(2) for like 4 hours. Now I am sitting at home getting ready for school while eating some amazing pizza.

What a day!

Man day to was AMAZING!!! First i woke up and had a good breakfast of manna porridge and fruit. Then explored Helsinki while on my way to watch Mailis, Sirke and Riisto do a tri athalon. then explored more of Helsinki and went to some really cool places. Now i am chilling in the apartment getting ready for bed. Also today i road the sickest bike in the world! It is called a brompton bike made in London. It folds!

Well today was good. Woke up late, school went smooth and now i am in Helsinki. It was a two hour train ride and then a short bus trip to Milia's( the Savelas eldest daughter) apartment. now i am going to bed. see everyone tomorrow

another day

Well today wasn't anything special. Got up, ate, went to school, came home and slept a little( I've not been sleeping well).  I got got up, ate something, tried to translate some history notes( google isn't the best) and now I'm here writing my blog. Tomorrow after school we go to Tampere to catch a train to Helsinki were i will be staying for the weekend. I will be bringing my laptop just to keep up on emails and my blog soo don't expect  me to be on much because I will be either exploring Helsinki or trying to do math:/ anyway time to shower. Soo see everyone tomorrow.

one of those days

Well as the title implies today is one of those days. It started out with a dark rainy morning. I was up at 6:30 and out the door by 7:15. I got to school and the classes seemed to drag on forever. Especially math. Right now i hate that class. It is hard enough in English but here i cant understand what the teacher is saying or the book. Plus the teacher kinda laughs about it( apparently he makes fun of everyone). it got to the point today in the second class of math( we had two in a row) that i just put my pencil and paper away and started to look at my Finnish phrase book. I was done. Then i got home and was doing good until i talked to my mom about my frustrations. Then it all came up when i went to my room. right now i am just sitting here breathing trying to stay calm.It's days like this that i honestly doubt myself and if or not I'm going to make it through the year. i will probably go to bed pretty early tonight soo See ya tomorrow.

Well today was pretty awsome. Went to school at 7:40(to early) and took math, then history then bio. Meanwhile somewhere in there we took a schoolunchl picture( all 150 of us). Then i went to my breaks and milled around. Then i went to take pictures. I got a class photo( class 2a) and then my individuak. I was all cowboyed up in my justin boots, cinch jeans, wrangler shirt and montana silversmith buckle. I came home after stopping at the post office to send two letters and a box( hint the box is for Dan my country officer). I was home for a couple of hours then went to my first Rotary meeting with my counsiler Jyrki. It was really cool being there and giving my two rotary banners from pendleton and milton free-water to the president( yes pictures were taken). now i am home getting ready for school and bed tommrow. soo i will see everyone tommrow. night

YES!

Well today was pretty good. Went to school at 8:30 and was a pretty easy day. Then came home, ate a small snack, and took a small nap. I got up and wrote an essay about the pros and cons of nuclear power( it's really good). Plus today in the mail i got my debit card. You all know what that means. MONEY!!!!!! Mom and Dad it's not my fault if we don't have a house when i get home. It's all the nice things here fault. Soo now i am going to get ready for tomorrow. Bye everyone

Well today was awesome. Had the usual school day( starting at 7:40) and then took pictures ( school, class and individual). After school I went to the post office to send two letters and a box( hint the box is for my country officer Dan). I came home and relaxed for a couple hours and then went to my first Rotary meeting with my counselor Jyrki. It was cool because they got pictures of me officially giving my two club banners from Pendleton and Milton-Freewater to the president. Now I am home getting ready for tomorrow. Soo night everyone tune in tomorrow for more.

Well today was pretty uneventful. Woke up at 8:30, ate breakfast and milled around the house. When Pauli got home from his sisters birthday at around 1 ish we ate a nice light lunch then he started to work on dinner. Around 2 ish we went to the 4-h flea market and business expo which was pretty cool. While there spent like 10 minutes bsin with a Finnish cop( he was pretty cool). Came home  and accidentally took a nap. Now i just ate dinner and am gonna fill out my picture stuff( yay....). I will try to post more pictures later seeing as I have a lot. It will be hard seeing as I have a busy week ahead of me. Soo have fun back home y'all.

well today was a good day. i got to sleep in, then i ate good food for lunch( mini burgers and potato's my mom whipped up) then listened to my sisters practice for there gig tonight, which they did amazing at and now i am here writing letters to my parents and Dan my country officer. soo if someone wants a letter let me know. So i will post more pictures later when i can figure out how to work captions. Sooo goodnight America and check in tomorrow

day 5 almost week 3

Soo day 5 of school is over and it was really easy. Went to school at 10(had to be there at 11:25) by myself and made it. had one period then went to a 2 hour lecture about money and saving(i didnt understand it). Then road home by myself(only after stopping at the store to buy some stuff including NUTELLA). Now i am chilling at home listening to Sirke play her guitar and enjoying a Mars bar. I will take some pictures of my house today and post em later. Soo i hope all ya'll in the states are havin fun. I'm out see ya

Day four of school is over and it's almost the end of my sencond week here in finland. schools still hard but i am making progess. i am getting finnish courses in vaasa and english books for my other classes. but off of school it's ok execpt i didnt know it would be this hard. i told my self back in the states that it was awsome . a year off from pendleton and family. well it is the hardest thing i have done yet. i know i wont regret it but it's stressfull. i just need too goo out there and show my strong face. soo some emails and letters of support would be great. anyway heading to shower after helping at sirke's vollyball practice. peace

Well day 3 of school is over. It went ok but i'm very frustrated. i can't understand a thing my teachers say. Everyone is like " zach it will take time to learn finnish" well i need to know it now. it's bugging me not knowing what the teachers are saying. It's the hardest in math. anyway i am still trying to fix some classes and monday i am applying for my finnish id. anyway i am gonna goo look through some flashcards and enjoy the oreos my parents sent me. bye

Well day two of school is over. I have some classes set like chemestry and helping in the advanced english class but still have to fix others like my math and finnish classes. well a little about my school and town. Laihia is a small town of 8k about 45 minutes from Vaasa which is the big coast city on the baltic. my highschool has 150 kids in 3 grades. Im in grade 2 which is for 17 year olds. Next to us is the middle school and primary school. the middle school only has 300 kids. soo it's a very small town. it kinda reminds me of pendleton becuase there are farms all around. well off to study soo i'll see ya'll tommrow

still alive

well it's day 8 for me in this country of Finland and i'm still alive.I havn't posted much becuase of some computer issues but  now i'm using a differnt one trying to fix mine. I just finnished my first day of lukio(highschool) and was completely lost. foods way better though and you get a lot of breaks that are long. my host family is great and i am making a good impression on the kids here(hopefully). I have been taking some pictures and will post them later. dont expect too much becuase I forgot my adaptor and now cant charge my laptop:/ anyway back too the family soo have fun america!
